Mike is a business leader with over 20 years’ experience in the UK, Asia and Australia as a managing director and CEO responsible for establishing, growing and taking businesses into overseas markets. Mike also has a successful track record of turning around declining businesses in a number of industries.
Mike combines pragmatic business experience with the most up to date consulting tools and thinking to generate measurable and rapid results for his clients.
Some of Mike’s successes in recent years have included:
- A consulting role as the Interim CEO of a leading specialist importer based in Sydney that required the development and implementation of a turnaround strategy. Mike's intervention led to the company reporting its first profit in four years on a 20% increase in turnover.
- Founding a leisure retail business which grew to 84 outlets over the first five years of operation and which he sold to the market leader in the early 1990s after gaining 20% market share against major multinational competitors.
- The development of the strategy and implementation of a magazine publishing business which had to abandon its flagship publication in favour of launching a brand new title which quickly re-established the business as the leader in its field.
- Built a business from US$4M in domestic sales to US$25M in international sales selling to large retailers after developing a strategic blueprint to win market share against large and powerful competitors.
In addition to his consulting activities Mike chairs the board of a successful national specialist importer and non executive director of a number of private companies.
Mike is based in Sydney.
